Radio Workshops

In partnership with The Worthing and District Amateur Radio Club

Aim

To promote interest and enjoyment of technology.

Description

A Design and Technology workshop for Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils in which they assemble a working radio from the kit provided. The pupils then take their own radio away with them to experiment with short wave listening at home.

The workshop was piloted by INTECH Science Centre during National Science Week 2001 and uses Guglielmo Marconi’s first transatlantic wireless signal as its focus.
