SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING AMBASSADORS

Ambassador for your school

imageScience and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) are people with science, technology, engineering and maths skills employed in a variety of occupations.

SEAs are all individuals, with very different backgrounds and aspirations. They are also volunteers, so the kind of activity with which they are willing to get involved and the amount of time they can donate varies. However, examples of the type of activity with which they can assist include:

  • Helping with classroom projects on specific areas of expertise
  • Attending careers fairs and giving careers talks
  • Facilitating and mentoring groups on specific projects
  • Bringing an industrial perspective to STEM subjects and projects
  • Supporting out-of-school activities such as after school clubs, challenges and competitions
  • SEAs can also provide one to one mentoring of teachers and support teachers in lesson planning
