South Downs Planetarium shows - July 2009

The effective teaching of astronomy involves viewing the night sky, but to take an entire group of pupils “star-gazing” is impractical for many reasons. A planetarium solves this problem by bringing the night sky to students. It makes clear many of the basic aspects of astronomy and space science in an exciting and effective way.

Connect with the countryside - free day for years 5 and 6

The day offers an opportunity to learn about food, farming, the countryside and the environment. The many ‘hands-on’ activities will help children find out about food production and the countyside in general and are directly linked to the National Curriculum.
Collaborative Learning in Science and Design & Technology

17 July 2009 at the Product Development Centre, Hastings, East Sussex 9.30am – 4.15pm
To get the maximum benefit from the course, it is essential to have a Science and a D&T teacher attending from the same school. All teachers attending the course will be eligible for an Impact Award of £200 per teacher per day. Each school will also receive a smart materials kit, with samples of the materials to take away.
