Our exciting portfolio of STEM activities serves to support Key Stage 3, Core, Additional and Triple Science, Maths, Engineering and D&T GCSE, Diplomas, G&T events, A Levels and Aim Higher students.
The activities are matched to learning needs and make connections between the STEM National Curriculum to other subjects, creating a cross-curriculum dimension.
The activities are designed to increase motivation, student self-confidence and raises awareness of their potential as scientists, engineers and technologists.

IET Advanced Sports Imaging
Key Stage 4 – D&T, Science, Maths, PE
How can sports performance be improved through the use of technology and maths? Students analyse motion, speed, impact and energy transfer using an infra-red high-speed digital camera.

Key Stages 2/3/4 – D&T, Science
Students engage with design, technology and science in an exciting and hands-on way by building small remote-controlled robots and taking part in challenges.

The Bradford Business Game
Key Stages 4/5 – Business Enterprise, Maths
The Bradford Business Game is a simulation activity with the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial, mathematical and problem solving skills by understanding how a manufacturing company works.

3d CADventure
Key Stages 3/4 – ICT, D&T
This workshop introduces students to the world of 3d design using industrial computer modelling packages. Students can produce a solid model of a product on the screen and then modify it with a live screen design. Software and laptops are brought into the school.

Fun Maths Roadshow
Key Stages 2/3/4/5 – Maths
Curriculum-related logical challenges, problems and puzzles are used to develop students’ mathematical awareness in an hour of engaging activities.

Radio Workshop
Key Stage 3 – Science, Electronics, D&T
A design and technology workshop in which students assemble a working radio from the kit provided. Students can keep their radio to experiment with short wave listening at home.

Rapid Response Engineering Challenge
Key Stages 3/4 – Engineering, D&T
A one-day problem-solving activity based on the needs of an area after a natural disaster, which emphasises the key concepts of civil engineering in providing the essentials for survival.

Key Stage 3 – Science
This activity promotes enthusiasm, interest and awe in science, further developing understanding of the key concepts of electricity and magnetism in an hour of inspiring demonstrations.

SMART Design
Key Stages 3/4 – Science, D&T
Using SMART materials, this cross-curricula hands-on science, D&T and art activity stimulates STEM learning through role-play using SMART material applications.

Extended Project Qualification Support
Key Stage 5 and Diploma students
This is a hands-on workshop, providing guidance on how to tackle an independent research project. Students develop their research, study and writing skills for the production of an extended project either as a standalone qualification or as part of the Diploma at level 3.
