South Downs Planetarium shows - July 2009
Wednesday 01 July 2009
The effective teaching of astronomy involves viewing the night sky, but to take an entire group of pupils “star-gazing” is impractical for many reasons. A planetarium solves this problem by bringing the night sky to students. It makes clear many of the basic aspects of astronomy and space science in an exciting and effective way.
Connect with the countryside - free day for years 5 and 6
Thursday 16 July 2009
The day offers an opportunity to learn about food, farming, the countryside and the environment. The many ‘hands-on’ activities will help children find out about food production and the countyside in general and are directly linked to the National Curriculum.
