SMART Design
Using SMART materials, this cross-curricula hands-on science, D&T and art activity stimulates STEM learning through role-play using SMART material applications.
Using a fun scenario, students learn about SMART materials and their uses by exploiting their unusual properties to complete a high priority assignment.
The cross dimensional workshop is useful to D&T and science students and can be delivered at varying levels appropriate to PLTS of students.

Planning and running the session
Location, furniture and equipment requirements: A hall or classroom with tables and chairs to suit required number of students.
School staff support expectation: The teacher and any auxiliary staff are expected to support the students in their activities and learning. Teachers are also responsible for maintaining discipline during the activity.
