Fun Maths Roadshow

Fun Maths Roadshow

Curriculum-related logical challenges, problems and puzzles are used to develop students' mathematical awareness in an hour of engaging activities.

Using materials developed by Liverpool Hope University College, the Roadshow allows students to undertake mathematical activities in a non-confrontational setting. We bring a crate of about 50 puzzles and in a typical one-hour session most students will have completed over a dozen activities.

After an initial briefing, students work in pairs to solve a puzzle - it is then checked by a helper and the response sheet initialled. Helpers can also offer support where needed and record the puzzle the students' found most enjoyable and secondly, most challenging.

The Roadshow is ‘all ability' - each crate contains some easy and some quite challenging activities, all mixed up together.

Crates available:
• Crates A or B - Key Stage 2 / Low ability Key Stage 3
• Crates C or D - Key Stage 3
• Crate E - Advanced Key Stage 3 / Introductory Key Stage 4
• Crates F or G - Advanced Key Stage 4
• Crates H or J - Year 12
